【Acts11:19】Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.
【Acts11:20】But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
【Acts11:21】And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
【Acts11:22】Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch.
【Acts11:23】When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.
【Acts11:24】For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
【Acts11:25】Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul.
【Acts11:26】And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
【2Cor1:3】Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
【2Cor1:4】who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
【Acts5:1】But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession.
【Acts5:2】And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
【Acts5:3】But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?
【Acts5:4】While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
【Acts5:5】Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.
【Acts5:6】And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him.
【Acts5:7】Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
【Acts5:8】And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?”She said, “Yes, for so much.”
【Acts5:9】Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
【Acts5:10】Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband.
【Acts5:11】So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.
